Member for Moore, Ian Goodenough MP said up to $66,225 is available to groups based in his electorate as part of the 2023-24 Volunteer Grants round.
Volunteer Grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will help volunteer groups to buy small equipment for volunteers, by reimbursing volunteer fuel, transport or training costs, or support professional development activities.
Volunteer Grants are part of the Australian Government’s commitment to assist volunteers and encourage volunteering.
Mr Goodenough is calling for eligible, not-for-profit community organisations in Moore to submit their expression of interest by 1 st September 2023.
“I am liaising with community leaders and relevant committees to identify priority volunteer support for our local area” Mr Goodenough said.
“Volunteers across Moore freely give their time to support local organisations in a variety of ways, and make an extraordinary contribution to our community,”
Each Federal Member is able to nominate organisations from the expressions of interest to apply for funding in their electorate. The Department of Social Services will then send an application form to nominated organisations to apply for funding in November 2023.
Successful applicants will be announced in April 2024.
